Families from around the city are set to converge on Saunders Park to ‘Bounce Into Spring' on Sunday.
The park will be holding the event to mark the opening of new play equipment - and becoming the city's first ‘Eco Park'.
The ‘new' Saunders Park will boast a community garden, a wildlife pond, composting facilities - and even a climate change information trail.
New play equipment will include a new wooden climbing frame and a growing willow-dome hideaway.
The ‘Bounce Into Spring' opening event boasts spacehopper racing, sponge-throwing - a coconut shy and bagatelle, football activities, a bouncy castle, face-painting, a visit from the PlayBus, and, if they aren't called off an emergency, East Sussex Fire and Rescus service - and from both Sainsburys and Starbucks.
The event, which runs from midday until 3pm, has been organised by the Friends of Saunders Park group with financial and other contributions from Brighton and Hove City Council, East Brighton Trust, Groundwork and Marks and Spencer.
As vice-chair of the Friends of Saunders Park group, Green party councillor Ben Duncan said: "I'm really excited about the new park facilities - and Sunday's event, which should be a great community celebration.
"The park is used by so many people for so many things: it's back garden for many, a real play hub for so many children from Coombe Road and Fairlight primary schools, and a great place to walk the dog for others.
"I hope everyone will find the improvements make Saunders Park a better place to spend time - and, with it's environmental focus, it plays an even bigger role as a community space in future."
Work has been generously funded by M&S and the National Lottery, with work being done by Groundwork.
Other parks opening up their new play equipment on Sunday include nearby William Clarke Park (‘The Patch') and Queen's Park.
