About me

Ben Duncan

Councillor Ben Duncan

Green Party Parliamentary Candidate for Brighton Kemptown constituency

Hello there,

Thank you for your interest in my campaign to be elected as one of the first Green MPs in the country - in Brighton Kemptown constituency in the imminent General Election.

I'm a journalist by profession and I also represent Queen's Park area in central Brighton (within the constituency) as a city councillor, where I live with my six-year-old son.

In my work as a councillor, I speak on policing, safer communities, human rights and sport.

I am also the national home affairs spokesperson for the Green Party of England & Wales.

I serve on Sussex Police Authority (one of the few Green Party 'cop-watchers' outside London) and serve as Vice-Chair of the St James's Area Action Group and of the Friends of Saunders Park.

If you vote for me, you need to know what I stand for: well, I believe passionately in state education, improving housing standards, both in the ‘social' housing sector and in bedsits and privately rented flats, and in eradicating child poverty and narrowing the gap between the richest and the least well-off in our city.

I was educated in Hastings, Leeds and London: most recently I did a Masters' Degree in Human Rights.
